Saturday Evening Social Event, Awards and Auction
The Saturday evening of the Pillars Conference is a 'gala event' combining socializing with friends, good food, raising money through an auction, listening to some great music from the cadets and awarding some individuals and groups for their effort in the cadet movement.

The winner of this years President Award for the Top Army Cadet in BC went to C/CWO Christopher Congram of the BCR cadet corps in Port Moody. The President of the Army Cadet League of Canada, BC Branch, MGen (ret'd) Brian Vernon presents Chris with his award. Well done!

The top cadet corps in BC for 2007 is 1838 The Royal Westminster Regiment Army Cadet corps based in Maple Ridge. The Roy Rigby-Jones trophy is being present to the CO Captain Chris Lee and Mr. ____ of the Royal Canadian Legion in Maple Ridge. Presenting the trophy is Lieutenant Colonel Washbrook (l) CO of RCSU (Pac) and MGen Meating, Colonel Commandant RCACC. Well done 1838!

Being award the Most Improved cadet corps in BC, Rocky Mountain Rangers Cadet Corps from Williams Lake.
The banner is being present to Captain Lynn Henville by Major Lacey, SO2 RCSU (Pac).

Receiving an award for Excellence in Program Delivery, 1726 RCACC in Comox. Second Lieutenant Bauch (l) acting CO of the corps accepts the award on behalf of the corps. Also present is Sponsoring Committee members ______ and _______.

2893 RCACC Port Coquitlam receives an award for Military Band Program. Lieutenant Rothwell (l) and Charlene Vandenakker accepts the award from the CO.

Again, members of 1838 RCACC Maple Ridge accept recognition for top corps in BC from the CO.

The Pillars Conference was huge success due to the efforts on the auction by Ms. Daphne Gagnon, Zone Chair Vancouver South. Daphne and her efforts helped to raise over $4000 for the BC Branch of the Army Cadet League. Here Daphne is being presented a plaque from the President Brian Vernon.
Well done Daphne!

Lieutenant Commander Pash of RCSU (Pac) receives a plaque for his efforts on the media agenda.

Another stalwart contributor to the Pillars Conference is Captain Tim Townley of 1922 RCACC Aldergrove. Tim looks after all the IT and presentation media for the conference. Well done Tim!

Two 'backbones' of the BC Branch, Louise and Roger Prouse. Roger has been the Executive Director of the BC Branch of the Army Cadet Leaegue for over three years while Louise has been the Secretary. Both have given up their free time in retirement to dedicate countless hours to the army cadet program in BC. Roger is stepping down as the Executive Director however will continue to play a role as Vice President. Louise will stay on as the Secretary. Here President Brian Vernon presents Roger and Louise a plaque for Appreciation. They will later receive the Volunteer medal.

Lieutenant Colonel (ret'd) Philip Sherwin (r) receives a plaque from the President for his leadership as the Chairman of the Pillars Conference committee.

Lieutenant Colonel Aresenault and Captain Griffen show the plaque presented to them for attending the conference from the army cadet headquarters in Ottawa.
