Awards

Various awards were handed out during the conference. Plaques were given to all Affiliated Unit representatives for their support in the past years by the new Army Cadet League (BC) President, MGen (ret'd) Brian Vernon.

Plaques were also given to corps CO's and attending Sponsoring Committee representatives for running a corps efficiently. The efficiency awards were handed out by SO2 Land, Major Russ Lacey.

Three CIC Officers from the region received their CF Commission scrolls from LCol Ken Washbrook, CO RCSU(P). The Officers were 2Lt W. Kodama from 2822 Surrey, 2Lt P. Campbell of 2781 Powell River and 2Lt.(name unknown at this time.)

A very important milestone was celebrated at the conference. Major Nic Pope was handed his 3rd clasp to his Canadian Forces Decoration. That is 42 years of service. Again, LCol Washbrook had the honor of surprising Major Pope with his bar.

Finally, the Roy Rigby-Jones cup was presented to Major Gary Law CO 2831 BCR/Irish Richmond for his corps staff, CI's and Sponsoring Committee for running an excellent program.
