League Support

LEAGUE RESPONSIBILITIES

The League is a civilian organization that has the responsibility of ensuring that all army cadet corps are sponsored and that there is adequate support in the community. Adequate support means that the corps can maintain a strength of not less than 30 cadets and the required instructors and be adequately accommodated and supported.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

Although each of the partners has its own responsibilities, there is much consulting and cooperation with each other in all matters. When corps are in difficulties, Pacific Region gives special assistance and defers action on low strength until a corps parades 20 or less cadets on the Annual Review. When corps do not meet the support requirements, the corps is placed on probation and, if sufficient improvement is not made within a year, the corps can be disbanded.

While ensuring that there is adequate local support primarily is the responsibility of the League, Pacific Region is most cooperative in giving special assistance to corps on probation.

Neither Pacific Region nor the League wish to see any corps disbanded, but the cost of maintaining a corps cannot be justified when local support is not present.
